Dealing With Rejection
I know it’s been awhile since we have given an update on life but no news is good news. In May Brent celebrated having his lungs for 10 years- which we are forever grateful for! With that being said at the end of June this year Brent had a hospital pulmonary function test (PFT) done rather than the usual one in clinic. Those results showed his numbers had dropped so they retested it to be sure. Unfortunately the repeat produced the same results. So they decided to do a bronchoscopy where they look at the lungs, take tissue samples and do a fungal wash in the lungs. That all came back normal so they decided to just watch things and recheck in 3 months at our next clinic appt. At the next clinic appt in October his PFT in clinic his numbers were down more. So they did another bronchoscopy, a chest CT & labs- we knew they were looking for rejection but we weren’t too concerned because the last time they were fine and Brent was feeling completely normal.
