Good News! On Tuesday afternoon Brent received a call from the oncology nurse stating insurance called back and approved the infusion treatment. His first treatment will be next Tuesday in Chicago at 8am. He will have 1 infusion a week for 4 weeks. We will go to Chicago for each of them. The first one on Tuesday will be longer (8ish hours) and the 3 after that may be quicker depending on how he tolerates the medication. Last time he did well with these treatments with the only effect being that he was tired. We are expecting the same results this time. Thank you for the continued prayers, love and support! We appreciate each of you. I have gotten email from some of you which I have not had a chance to respond to. Know that we read them and appreciate all the love and encouragement-from near and far! We seen Brent oncologist again today. His EGD that he had done last week cam back normal!! Because the PTLD has not sbeen found insurance may not cover the retuxan. The nurse is going to work with insurance in hopes that they can get it covered so he can start treatments next week. This will be a once a week for four weeks treatment. If insurance does not cover it then we will have to have the EBV virus levels every 4 weeks in hopes that it goes down.  So right now our hope is that insurance will cover this and he can start treatment next week. If he does start treatment this wil knock his immune system down for the next 6-12 months. So he will have to be pretty cautious again. We are  thankful this was caught early and has not changed into lymphoma. We are also thankful Brent hasn't had any symptoms and has been feeling great through all of this. Thank you for all the prayers we can feel them!

Let me first start by saying we are thankful for the miles we have had without a bump in the road.  A week ago last Friday we went up to Chicago for a check up with Brent's lung transplant doctors. Everything checked out good. On Monday Brent received a call from his lungs transplant nurse telling him that his EBV and CMV virus tests came back elevated. Because of these results she wanted him to see his oncologist as soon as possible. {the last time these were elevated-7 years ago-Brent was treated for PTLD (post transplant lymphoma)} Thankfully we were able to get in that same day (last Monday) so within an hour of finding this all out we were on the road. I was thankful it was my day of at work! After we seen his oncologist he ordered a PET/CT scan-that Brent had done last Thursday. Today we went back up to see Dr Barton who is the oncologist. He went over the scans with us. He seen a questionable spot where the esophagus and stomach meet. This could just be acid reflex or ...
