Update

Good morning! Brent's surgery went flawlessly and the doctor was able to do everything he anticipated to do!! We were finally able to see him about 5:30 when they brought him to his room-after 4 hours in post-op & 10 long hours of waiting :). He was in post op an extra 2 hours because he was in excruciating pain (on the pain scale he was a 10-Through all his surgeries he has never had that kind of pain). Because of his pain they gave him a pain block-which took about 1 1/2 hours for the people to come in and give it to him...what we like to call 'the hurry up and wait game'.
He was blessed to be able to come straight up to 5 tower & skip the ICU, but he wasn't back more than a 1/2 hour and they whisked him away down to dialysis. So our family left at that time to head home-I appreciated them being up here with me for those 10 hours of waiting .
He said he didn't sleep much last night and his pain wasn't horrible but his incisions were throbbing. Thankfully, the nurse was able to push dilaudud by IV which helped greatly to make him comfortable.  When the surgery team made their rounds this morning they changed his dressing and...he kicked the doctor! :) Ha!! You ask "he didwhat??"...yes! He said when they pulled on the tape his muscles cramped which made his leg come up & hit the doc. Needless to say he is keeping everyone on their toes!
Right now he is sleeping restfully. They plan to come and get him at about 12 to take him down for dialysis for 4 hours.
Thank you all from the depths of our hearts for your continued prayers & words of encouragement! God has once again seen us through another critical surgery!
