Hello from Chicago

Hello from Chicago. We are here for check up's. Yesterday evening we seen Dr. Vertuno-brent's kidney Dr., Said that everything is looking ok. His creatine level is higher than they want it so they gave him a blood pressure medication that is suppose bring that down and he is suppose to increase his fluids. We also seen Dr. Barton-lymphoma dr- and things are awesome there as well. We don't see him for 3 months or so. Today we seen Dr. Love...the best Dr....well along with you Dr Dilling..I know you check up on us ;) ....and everything is good in his eyes. There is possibility they will change medications depending on the blood levels that will come back this afternoon. Nothing major just some tweeking...which isn't unusual. Right now I am sitting with Brent in the bronchoscopy lab...waiting for Dr. Gagemeigher to come and do his bronchoscopy....which was suppose to start at 11...so we will be lucky to get out of here before 5 oclock rush hour! But they tell us there is some emergency care on the floor...so we will wait patiently because we know how it is when we are on the floor and things are not good and we are SO thankful when the Dr. finally comes in!

We are looking forward to having time together this weekend with Memorial Day! Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable weekend!

Dr. Alex Rounds

Dr. Alex was just in. Nothing really new. Pretty much just waiting for those tubes to come out. He explained his meds and when we will need to come back for appt's with him etc. He is one of the nicest Dr's that we have...I say one of because we many that are nice! It's OVER!!!...so far!

He is out of surgery and everything went GREAT!!! It's awesome!!! We are so truly thankful for all that has come over the past hours! He should be extubated by the end of today. I will let you know more when I know!

Good evening! First thing this morning we went to Chicago to meet with the Dr who will be over seeing Brent’s photopheresis treatments. We had all of our questions answered and are hopeful that the treatments will work.  His first treatment will be Thursday morning of this week and we will have to go again on Friday. The treatments have to be done in Chicago and-we were glad to hear-the treatment will only be 2 hrs long!! The one side effects he has is that he can’t be exposed to the sun the first 24 hrs after treatment. This is because they use UV light in the treatment and it takes 24 hrs for his body to absorb any excess of the UV sensitive drug that may be in his body.    Other than that he should feel the same as usual!  He was also scheduled to get a port (under the skin) placed today.
