Christmas & All!

Christmas was a very busy time. We went to my parents house for a few days. We had family get togethers 4 days in a row so it was more convenient to stay with my parents because we had plans daily along with the snow storm that came the driving would have been difficult. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed so much being with our families.
Come January 4th I started my new job working at a OB/GYN office. I truly enjoy it so far. It has brought me a new challenge in life as I am learning many more new things. Brent is still waiting to hear back from his job in Clinton as a mechanic. There are some technicalities they are working through. If from some reason God doesn't open that door completely we know that it will be His will. We just pray after all that has taken place in this past year with his transplant and all, that God will lead us where we are suppose to be. We want nothing more than the right thing to come around and also that Brent can hold on to this good health that he has been blessed with.
Our hearts ache for a few families we know that lost young loved ones this holiday season. We continue to pray that God will hold them in the palm of His hand.

Dr. Alex was just in. Nothing really new. Pretty much just waiting for those tubes to come out. He explained his meds and when we will need to come back for appt's with him etc. He is one of the nicest Dr's that we have...I say one of because we many that are nice! It's OVER!!!...so far!

He is out of surgery and everything went GREAT!!! It's awesome!!! We are so truly thankful for all that has come over the past hours! He should be extubated by the end of today. I will let you know more when I know!

Good evening! First thing this morning we went to Chicago to meet with the Dr who will be over seeing Brent’s photopheresis treatments. We had all of our questions answered and are hopeful that the treatments will work.  His first treatment will be Thursday morning of this week and we will have to go again on Friday. The treatments have to be done in Chicago and-we were glad to hear-the treatment will only be 2 hrs long!! The one side effects he has is that he can’t be exposed to the sun the first 24 hrs after treatment. This is because they use UV light in the treatment and it takes 24 hrs for his body to absorb any excess of the UV sensitive drug that may be in his body.    Other than that he should feel the same as usual!  He was also scheduled to get a port (under the skin) placed today.
