Safe Travels

We flew out this morning at 4...we were up at 3:30..."yawn". We arrived here in Orlando at about 12. The weather was beautiful when we landed but it is now raining...hopefully the rest of the week will be sunnier! We went to Gaterland when we got here...kinda interesting with all of the crocodiles & alligators. Tomorrow we drive to Daytona beach and go to the speedway!

We are enjoying our time here and thankful that we made it down safely! Brent also enjoyed his first ride in an airplane! It was great!

Not sure how much I will update but wanted to let our family back home know that we got here safely....(aka...Pat & Owen...that's you too) Thanks neighbors for keeping an eye on our house while we are gone! We are so blessed to have you both as our neighbors!

    I hope you take a lot of pictures! How exciting to go on the first big flight and going to the beach! Think of it this way, it's always better to have a rainy day in Florida then a nice day in Illinois :) I'm sure you'll end up having plenty of sun!
    Have fun at the speedway. That's always a blast :) Enjoy your week. It always goes too fast.

Dr. Alex was just in. Nothing really new. Pretty much just waiting for those tubes to come out. He explained his meds and when we will need to come back for appt's with him etc. He is one of the nicest Dr's that we have...I say one of because we many that are nice! It's OVER!!!...so far!

He is out of surgery and everything went GREAT!!! It's awesome!!! We are so truly thankful for all that has come over the past hours! He should be extubated by the end of today. I will let you know more when I know!

Good evening! First thing this morning we went to Chicago to meet with the Dr who will be over seeing Brent’s photopheresis treatments. We had all of our questions answered and are hopeful that the treatments will work.  His first treatment will be Thursday morning of this week and we will have to go again on Friday. The treatments have to be done in Chicago and-we were glad to hear-the treatment will only be 2 hrs long!! The one side effects he has is that he can’t be exposed to the sun the first 24 hrs after treatment. This is because they use UV light in the treatment and it takes 24 hrs for his body to absorb any excess of the UV sensitive drug that may be in his body.    Other than that he should feel the same as usual!  He was also scheduled to get a port (under the skin) placed today.
