Update

Hello from sunny Chicago! Brent got his chest tube pulled yesterday afternoon and his night went well. We are looking to get released sometime this morning to come back home...YEAH!!! Of course we are looking forward to it!

Please keep "Judy's family" in your prayers. Her boyfriend got his double lung transplant last night. I have yet to hear from her this morning or find her to check on how things went. He had pulmonary fibrosis. The lungs that were coming-the L one was awesome but the R one was somewhat brused on the bottom so they were going to either do a lobectomy or just put in the one lung-which is possible to live on one lung in his case. So please....Keep them in your prayers as the next few days unfold for them!

Also please keep the King family from Eureka in your prayers well as they lost their grandma yesterday. I have never lost a grandparent...but I just dread the day that I do! I can't imagine how hard that would be!

It's amazing the number of people out there that need our prayers daily!!! Yet how wonderful it is to have HIM to go to through our trials and sorrows...AND JOYS!!!

Dr. Alex Rounds

Dr. Alex was just in. Nothing really new. Pretty much just waiting for those tubes to come out. He explained his meds and when we will need to come back for appt's with him etc. He is one of the nicest Dr's that we have...I say one of because we many that are nice! It's OVER!!!...so far!

He is out of surgery and everything went GREAT!!! It's awesome!!! We are so truly thankful for all that has come over the past hours! He should be extubated by the end of today. I will let you know more when I know!

Good evening! First thing this morning we went to Chicago to meet with the Dr who will be over seeing Brent’s photopheresis treatments. We had all of our questions answered and are hopeful that the treatments will work.  His first treatment will be Thursday morning of this week and we will have to go again on Friday. The treatments have to be done in Chicago and-we were glad to hear-the treatment will only be 2 hrs long!! The one side effects he has is that he can’t be exposed to the sun the first 24 hrs after treatment. This is because they use UV light in the treatment and it takes 24 hrs for his body to absorb any excess of the UV sensitive drug that may be in his body.    Other than that he should feel the same as usual!  He was also scheduled to get a port (under the skin) placed today.
