Dawn and Becky (Brent's cousins...& mine!) drove up to see us and spend time with us! It was so great to have them here...they added laughter to his room! He really enjoyed them coming! Thanks girls...we love you!

The transplant nurses came in and Brent's Score is 43.8 now-it jumped up quite a few numbers-last we knew it was 38. Because his health is declined so much it has raised his score-the transplant "community" uses this score to rate who needs the transplants the worst-everyone in the nation that is waiting for transplant have this same thing as far as a score. His blood sugar was high at noon today so they have him an insulin shot...it was 264. They think this is from him being on prednisone so the Dr's aren't real worried about that at this time...they can treat that with the insulin. Other than that...not much new really. Dr. Alex(transplant) and Dr Forsythe(pulmonlogist) both stopped in today it was great to see them both and talk to them!
Again thanks for all the prayers from the kids too the adults.

Dr. Alex was just in. Nothing really new. Pretty much just waiting for those tubes to come out. He explained his meds and when we will need to come back for appt's with him etc. He is one of the nicest Dr's that we have...I say one of because we many that are nice! Here are a couple pics of him when he was in here with us not even 10 min ago! Enjoy! PS. I have to admit the Coyote movies weren't that bad...rachel!

It's OVER!!!...so far!

He is out of surgery and everything went GREAT!!! It's awesome!!! We are so truly thankful for all that has come over the past hours! He should be extubated by the end of today. I will let you know more when I know!

Good evening! First thing this morning we went to Chicago to meet with the Dr who will be over seeing Brent’s photopheresis treatments. We had all of our questions answered and are hopeful that the treatments will work.  His first treatment will be Thursday morning of this week and we will have to go again on Friday. The treatments have to be done in Chicago and-we were glad to hear-the treatment will only be 2 hrs long!! The one side effects he has is that he can’t be exposed to the sun the first 24 hrs after treatment. This is because they use UV light in the treatment and it takes 24 hrs for his body to absorb any excess of the UV sensitive drug that may be in his body.    Other than that he should feel the same as usual!  He was also scheduled to get a port (under the skin) placed today.
