Update

Well we had a great evening with my family last night. We were glad to have Ryan up here with us. We went to Weber Grill for supper...we needed a break and Brent needed to rest so it worked out.

Last night went ok. They came in to do a chest x-ray at 12 and they did an EKG...when the Dr came in this morning...they didn't know why those were done...HA! So we weren't the only ones confussed! He is up and feeling good this morning. Tired but his pain is under control for the most part. Yesterday he walked 6 laps around the halls...which is huge!!!! He didn't even use oxygen for the last 4! I am very proud of him!!!
We are looking forward to his siblings coming up to see him along with Beth & Ty Sauder today!

    Isn't Ronald McDonald House wonderful?? We stayed there a couple of times when our son was having tumors removed from his eye, it was such a blessing to be with other people who 'understood' and to have that support and aid of such a wonderful place to stay during a trying time. Continuing to pray for you and so delighted with all the updates!

Dr. Alex was just in. Nothing really new. Pretty much just waiting for those tubes to come out. He explained his meds and when we will need to come back for appt's with him etc. He is one of the nicest Dr's that we have...I say one of because we many that are nice! It's OVER!!!...so far!

He is out of surgery and everything went GREAT!!! It's awesome!!! We are so truly thankful for all that has come over the past hours! He should be extubated by the end of today. I will let you know more when I know!

Good evening! First thing this morning we went to Chicago to meet with the Dr who will be over seeing Brent’s photopheresis treatments. We had all of our questions answered and are hopeful that the treatments will work.  His first treatment will be Thursday morning of this week and we will have to go again on Friday. The treatments have to be done in Chicago and-we were glad to hear-the treatment will only be 2 hrs long!! The one side effects he has is that he can’t be exposed to the sun the first 24 hrs after treatment. This is because they use UV light in the treatment and it takes 24 hrs for his body to absorb any excess of the UV sensitive drug that may be in his body.    Other than that he should feel the same as usual!  He was also scheduled to get a port (under the skin) placed today.
